Spinto-soprano, Julianne Casey is acclaimed worldwide for her powerfully resonant voice and captivating stage presence. The past several seasons have introduced Ms. Casey to audiences around the globe, and she begins the 2023/2024 season with a highly anticipated role debut at the Stara Zagora Opera of Bulgaria as Mimì in Puccini’s La bohème under the baton of Maestra Nicoletta Conti. Her concert schedule includes international debuts with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the Tirana National Theatre of Opera and Ballet, and the Teatro Conservatorio di Giovanni Battista Martini. She makes her debut in the title role of Puccini's Manon Lescaut marking the Puccini centennial celebrations at the Festivale Internazionale di Mezza Estate with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese. In the States, Ms. Casey performs in concert at the Opera at Florham’s Opera Everlasting, joined by the Montclair Rose Quartet and pianist Mary Pinto. In her hometown of Tyler, Texas, she performs a concert of arias and art songs in five languages, titled Year One, at the Rogers Palmer Auditorium alongside pianist Charles Praytor. She joins the East Texas Symphony Orchestra in a concert tribute to prolific songwriter and lyricist Will Jennings, led by Maestro Richard Lee. On the competition stage, she receives the Special Award in the Bologna International Vocal Competition, led by Maestro Leone Magiera, and is awarded Third Prize in the Concorso Lirico di Tagliacozzo Festivale, led by soprano Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi.
Ms. Casey’s 2022/2023 season brought her debut in the East Texas Symphony Orchestra’s “Tribute to Boston Pops”. On the international concert stage, she joined the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese performing the role of Anna in Puccini’s Le Villi under the baton of Maestro Dian Tchobanov which was received with great acclaim.
In the 2024/2025 season, Ms. Casey will debut in the role of Elisabetta di Valois in Verdi's Don Carlo at the Tirana National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in the capital city of Albania.
Ms. Casey received a Master of Music in Voice at the Mannes School of Music as a Presidential Scholar where she performed the role of La Contessa Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. She received a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance at the Purchase Conservatory of Music at the State University of New York where she made her debut in the roles of Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Blanche de la Force in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites, and in the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica.
